{"id":3532,"date":"2018-08-27T07:29:37","date_gmt":"2018-08-27T07:29:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.megaflora9.com\/wp\/?p=3532"},"modified":"2018-09-26T06:17:26","modified_gmt":"2018-09-26T06:17:26","slug":"level-1-inhibition-of-pathogenic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/megaflora9.com\/?p=3532","title":{"rendered":"Action at Level 1: Inhibition of pathogenic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The capacity to inhibit a pathogen, either from a\u00a0bacteria or a substance with antibiotic properties,\u00a0is usually determined <em>in vitro<\/em> in a growth medium\u00a0with agar in Petri dish, where the pathogen is growing\u00a0and where the substance or bacteria to evaluate\u00a0is placed.<\/p>\n<p>This classical method is based on the presence of an inhibition\u00a0zone around a hole of 8 mm in which the bacteria\u00a0or antibiotic substance is placed. The diameter of the\u00a0inhibition zone around the hole classifies the inhibitory\u00a0capacity in four grades:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Grade 0: no inhibition zone.<\/li>\n<li>Grade 1: inhibition zone from 8 to 11 mm.<\/li>\n<li>Grade 2: inhibition zone from 11 to 14 mm.<\/li>\n<li>Grade 3: inhibition zone more than 14 mm.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3413\" src=\"http:\/\/www.megaflora9.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/ACTION-1-1024x429.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"429\" srcset=\"https:\/\/megaflora9.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/ACTION-1-1024x429.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/megaflora9.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/ACTION-1-300x126.jpg 300w, https:\/\/megaflora9.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/ACTION-1-768x322.jpg 768w, https:\/\/megaflora9.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/ACTION-1.jpg 1500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The degree of inhibition is proportional to the diameter,\u00a0then, the product with Grades 2 and 3 in the test are\u00a0considered optimal to counteract the growth of the pathogen\u00a0studied.<\/p>\n<p>The following graphs show the results of inhibition\u00a0of different assays with <strong>Megaflora 9 evo<\/strong>, or with the\u00a0specific strains it contains, on various pathogens.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Megaflora 9 evo<\/strong> has demonstrate to have a high degree\u00a0inhibiting pathogens belonging to the family Enterobacteriaceae\u00a0such as <em>E. coli<\/em>, <em>Shigella<\/em>, <em>Salmonella<\/em> and <em>Proteus\u00a0agglomerans<\/em>. In all cases, the degree of inhibition was 3\u00a0with a value of the inhibition zone over 14 mm.<\/p>\n<h2>Growth inhibition of Enterobacteriaceae<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-3431 size-full alignnone\" style=\"color: #32373c; font-size: 16px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.megaflora9.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/annex1-1-e1537941972842.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"997\" height=\"535\" srcset=\"https:\/\/megaflora9.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/annex1-1-e1537941972842.jpg 997w, https:\/\/megaflora9.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/annex1-1-e1537941972842-300x161.jpg 300w, https:\/\/megaflora9.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/annex1-1-e1537941972842-768x412.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 997px) 100vw, 997px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In another test, the individual inhibitory capacity of\u00a0some strains of <strong>Megaflora 9 evo<\/strong> on the growth of<em> Candida\u00a0albicans<\/em> was evaluated. The results showed different\u00a0degree of inhibition depending on the strain, being\u00a0<em>L. plantarum<\/em> and <em>L. salivarius<\/em> the most active. <em>L. salivarius<\/em>,\u00a0in particular, showed a 100% inhibition of <em>Candida<\/em>\u00a0growth. Also, <em>Lactococcus lactis<\/em> showed good inhibition\u00a0with a score of more than 80%.<\/p>\n<h2>Growth inhibition of <em>Candida albicans<\/em><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-3432 size-full alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.megaflora9.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/annex1-2-e1537942073266.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"452\" srcset=\"https:\/\/megaflora9.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/annex1-2-e1537942073266.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/megaflora9.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/annex1-2-e1537942073266-300x136.jpg 300w, https:\/\/megaflora9.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/annex1-2-e1537942073266-768x347.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In a third test, it was determined the inhibitory capacity\u00a0of <em>Clostridium difficile<\/em> growth at 24 and 48 hours of incubation,\u00a0as well as the production of toxins A and B. In\u00a0this case, <em>Enterococcus faecium<\/em> W54 strain presented the\u00a0most potent inhibitory capacity, with a significant inhibition\u00a0of growth at 24h and total at 48h. Other strains, as\u00a0<em>L. paracasei<\/em> W20 and <em>L. salivarius<\/em> W24, present in <strong>Megaflora\u00a09 evo<\/strong> also inhibited the total <em>Clostridium<\/em> growth\u00a0at 48 h.<\/p>\n<p>Concerning the inhibition of the production of toxins A\u00a0&amp; B besides of the strains mentioned also <em>Bifidobacrtrium\u00a0lactis<\/em> W51 was also able to inhibit totally the production\u00a0of these enterotoxins.<\/p>\n<p>It is interesting to compare the results of this study\u00a0with the inhibition of <em>Candida albicans<\/em>, because it justifies\u00a0the presence of multispecies and multi-strain in\u00a0the mixture.
