This\u00a0model simulates the passage of bacteria through the GI\u00a0tract and allows to calculate the survival of the strains,\u00a0and its resistance to gastric acid, pepsin, pancreatin and\u00a0bile salts.<\/p>\n<p>The model imitates the compartmentalization and timing\u00a0of transit in every part of the GI tract, regulating the\u00a0secretion of pH, addition of enzymes and secretion of\u00a0bile onto the sample to be studied.<\/p>\n<p>The experiment is run at 37 \u00b0 C and the total count of bacteria\u00a0in the sample is measured at four different times:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>After rehydration of the sample (T = \u2018Ah)<\/li>\n<li>After simulating the passage through the stomach\u00a0(T = 1\u2019Ah)<\/li>\n<li>Approximately 1.5 hours after addition of bile and\u00a0pancreatin (T = 3h)<\/li>\n<li>At the end of the digestion period (T = 6h)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-3404 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.megaflora9.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/survival-2-1024x520.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"520\" srcset=\"https:\/\/megaflora9.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/survival-2-1024x520.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/megaflora9.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/survival-2-300x152.jpg 300w, https:\/\/megaflora9.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/survival-2-768x390.jpg 768w, https:\/\/megaflora9.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/survival-2.jpg 1500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Living and viable\u00a0bacteria count (cfu\/g) at 4 times in the GI survival model test: T = \u2018Ah, T = 1\u2019Ah, T = 3h\u00a0and T =6h<\/p>\n<p><strong>Megaflora 9 evo<\/strong>\u00a0clearly shows that after the passage\u00a0of GI tract, the number\u00a0of living bacteria (cfu\/g) was stable with a minimum\u00a0of loss. This initial decrease in the number of bacteria is\u00a0better than usual expected in probiotic products.<\/p>\n<p>A part of the impact which might result from the survival\u00a0in the GI tract, the addition of certain ingredients to the\u00a0product can damage bacteria so that, although they survive,\u00a0cannot reach its optimal activity level.
